K-Rend TC Rendering & Hybrid Lime Strap Pointing, Chorley

Property was undergoing renovation by a couple who'd recently married. The gent was a milkman by trade, was a pleasure to work with. Works consisted of old render chipped off with full inhouse backing coat and K-Rend TC finish in Bronze. We also renovated the stonework in a strap pointed finish.
Stone Refixing / Strap Pointing / InHouse Backing Render
Using mortar pumps and specialist flexible external stone wall tile adhesive, we refixed all loose and precariously arranged peices of stone back to the wall making sure each peice was 'sound'. This was a tricky job and exacerbated by the raking off old mortar where chisels and bolsters were used in order to retain the stones authentic jagged edges and rustic appeal.
We began by chipping off the old mortar and patch raking the brickwork to provide a suitable key. During this stage of prep we also replaced a number of concrete lintels that had failed due to moisture reachintg the steel rebar, causing it to rust and 'pop' the face of the lintels. Very unsightly and structurly inadequate.
Underway
Once all the stones were fixed back n place tight and all the old render was chipped off. We began preparing for the Strap Pointed finish and the backing coat. We also acid cleaned the stonework before pointing, taking care to check how the acid reacts as certain types of stone with with iron ore content can discolour. The stone performed well in tests and we treated all areas with calibrated HFL.
K Rend TC - Bronze / Watersealing
Extra care had to be paid to ensuring the K-Rend was adequetly mixed as there were clear signs of seperation in the pre-mixed coloured dyed render. Using a special 'miniature' whisk, every tub was turned before use. All faces were primed with K-Rend Silicone TC Priming Soution. Once complete, all fixtures and fittings like outside lights, outside tap etc were drilled and fixed back to the wall and all silicone seals around windows and doors resealed in correct colour.
Notes
Following the application of our 2-layer inhouse render backing system. We applied the decorative K-Rend TC finish. Care was taken to ensure a consistent finish throughout. We pointed his ridge tiles as a freebie as theyd looked after us with brews and sandwiches throughout the job, "beltin ah that's smashin that is" (customer's favourite happy gesture) :) .
